Tres Encinas, Madrid, Spain
Tres Encinas is a well-known seafood and fish restaurant serving since 1967. In 2010, Autoban redesigned the interior with a focus on being true to local materials- the essential base of the Arts and Crafts movement- concentrating on tiles, furniture, glass and metalwork. The ceiling recalls Art Nouveau with an ornamental metal lattice, a feature continued to the design of the doors separating the main dining rooms. The walls are embellished with custom made tiles with pictorial stories about fishermen and sea life. The floor has a classical style parquetry which is repeated in the ceiling of the bar area, the wood bringing a sociable warmth to the restaurant. Deer chair and Deer Bar Stool manufactured by De La Espada for Autoban, feature throughout.
