At London Design Festival this year, Charlene Mullen introduced collaboration with De La Espada through the launch of ten cushions. The designs vary from the humorous and illustrative to the decorative and ordered, and all are enhanced by the deep texture of hand or machine embroidery. Playful Works of Leif.designpark, Tokyo

From 7-19 October, Leif.designpark exhibited their work at Tokyo's Living Design Center OZONE. The exhibition, titled “Playful Works of Leif.designpark 2007-2010” celebrated the work of Leif.designpark, focusing on the influences of their encounters, from manufacturers to traditions to new materials. Alongside products manufactured by De La Espada, the exhibition also included Tatamo-mat designed for Muji, and Rebirth Pod, the biodegradable flower pot designed for the Rebirth Project.

Grey Group Headquarters, New York
The global headquarters of Grey Group, one of the world's leading marketing communications companies, is in a landmark building in New York's renowned Flatiron district. Studios Architecture worked with Grey to create a design that highlighted the original features of the building while creating a collaborative environment with a warm modernism. Authentic materials are used throughout from reclaimed wood to raw cork to the original restored red concrete flooring. Light floods the space thanks to the new 15-story glass curtain wall. Art installations in wood, neon and metal dot the building and add to the creative cachet. Modern furniture is used throughout from the likes of Hans Wegner, Flos, and Moooi. The project also features products manufactured by De La Espada including Hepburn Modular Sofa by Matthew Hilton; King Lamp, Mushroom coffee table and Sledge by Autoban; and Lin Bench

The Biltmore, New York
The Biltmore is a luxury residential building that is a star of New York Times Square entertainment and business district. A 24-hour attended lobby with concierge, doorman and full-service valet are among the wide array of 5-star services available. The 53-story tower was designed by McCARTAN, the NYC-based cutting edge hotel design company led by Colum McCartan. Designed to look and feel like a hotel, the interiors make extensive use of rich natural materials including sandblasted walnut and naturally split granite. The main lobby includes the 128 Lounge Chair by De La Espada.
